Ezo Deer in Daisetsuzan(2024/6)

I encountered three Ezo deer near the Daisetsu Kogen Onsen, which serves as the trailhead for Hakuundake. They appeared to be a family, with all three standing in a line, evenly spaced, and looking directly at me.

Near Hakuundake Emergency Shelter(2024/6)

I spotted another Ezo deer grazing on the trail near the Hakuundake Emergency Shelter. Ezo deer in Hokkaido are large, nearly as big as bears, in my opinion.
